I often prepare my photographs with great care; Clito of the World is one such example. From the outset, it establishes a connection between nature—present since time immemorial—and the photographer, who expresses their sense of wonder through their art. From the infinitely small, invisible to the naked eye, to the overwhelming grandeur that dazzles our sight, nature offers humanity—both past and present—a vast spectrum of materials that inspire awe, encourage learning, and enable evolution. Humanity comes and goes, but nature remains ever-present. Still, it unfortunately wavers under the impact of human actions. Although humans have always celebrated and romanticized nature, they have paradoxically mistreated it. Does this power dynamic wound the human ego? I cannot say—for I will never stop contemplating “a human.” Clito of the World represents the billionth—or nearly so—attempt to surpass nature. It is quite likely that, somewhere on the other side of the planet, another human has also used this same moon and its light to find their way. I sincerely hope they have enough resources to keep going.

Varanasi, India
An elderly woman, draped in a vibrant saree and wrapped in an off-white shawl, slowly makes her way down a narrow street in the heart of Varanasi. Her steps are steady yet unhurried, as if she has walked this path countless times. The walls around her burst with color, adorned with intricate paintings—few large blooming flowers, the serene face of a sage, and the outline of an ancient fort standing against time. The vibrant hues of the artwork contrast beautifully with the earthy tones of the worn-out street, creating a scene that feels both timeless and alive. The air carries the scent of incense and distant temple bells chime softly, blending into the murmur of everyday life. She moves forward, lost in her own world, a quiet witness to the ever-changing yet deeply rooted spirit of Varanasi.

In the narrow streets of Varanasi, a physically challenged pujari moves through the lanes in his wheelchair, on his way to perform his daily rituals and had a short rest. Despite the challenges of navigating the uneven paths, his dedication to his spiritual duties remains unwavering. His saffron robes, worn with grace, symbolize his connection to the divine, as he maneuvers with quiet determination amidst the chaos of the holy city. On the side wall, a painting of a sage gazes down at him with curiosity. The sage’s painted eyes seem almost alive, as if questioning the thoughts running through the pujari’s mind. Is the sage pondering the pujari’s resilience, or perhaps marveling at his spiritual strength that transcends physical limitations? The pujari, deep in thought, appears unfazed by the sage’s gaze, his mind focused on his sacred duties ahead. This moment, framed by the lively streets and the ancient wisdom etched on the walls, reflects the duality of life in Varanasi — where spirituality and struggle coexist. The painting’s silent curiosity mirrors the human search for understanding, while the pujari’s journey embodies devotion, strength, and the pursuit of purpose, regardless of physical challenges.

In the bustling streets of Jodhpur, a small shop brims with vibrant colors and quiet stories. A husband and wife, dressed in traditional Rajasthani attire, tend to their saree business with a seamless partnership born of years of shared labor. The wife, draped in a richly embroidered lehenga, showcases a vibrant saree to a bangle seller who pauses from her rounds to inquire about its price. Her hands, adorned with jingling bangles, gesture animatedly as she negotiates. Nearby, their young son sits on the adjacent staircase, his schoolbooks spread before him. Unfazed by the commotion, he concentrates on his studies, a picture of determination amid the colorful chaos of the shop. This harmonious scene reflects the essence of a hardworking family balancing tradition, livelihood, and aspirations in the heart of Rajasthan’s blue city.
