Daily life of the Rice Mills Workers
The females usually dry and husk the paddy and pack the husked rice into sacks under the supervision of a head worker. Thus they are often termed 'Chatal Konnya' or the daughter of rice mills. In rural Bengal, girls often get married at a very young age and the practice of child marriage still survives in this society. They sacrifice their own dreams for the sake of the child and adapt to a new life. Being a lower-middle-class person, she has to work hard and somehow make a living. Even after a hundred struggles with a thousand pains in the chest, she never lets her child feel a little pain. They don't think twice about giving up all their dreams for the happiness of the child.
