Everyday life is the repetition of days without any hope or desire, which has no result other than the death of our feelings. Each of us spends most of our time working. We wake up in the morning, go to work and come back, and this happens again and again. Ask ourselves a simple question "Do I control my life or does it take my life wherever it wants?" To get rid of everyday life, you have to have big ideas in mind, Social connections should be expanded and more time should be spent on leisure. Let go of the past and set a goal for the future and wake up every morning hoping to achieve it

Every year, thousands of followers of “Loknath,” gather at different branches of Shri Shri Lokenath Brahmachari Ashram for the “Kartik Brati” or “Rakher Upobash” religious festival. The festival is held on every Saturday and Tuesday during the last 15 days of Bangla month of “Kartik.” Lokenath Brahmachari, mostly known as Baba Lokenath, was an 18th Century Hindu saint and philosopher in Bengal. In the bustling city of Sadarghat, Bangladesh, a community of boatmen resided on the shores of the mighty river. For generations, their lives revolved around the boats that served as their homes, their livelihoods, and their companions. From the break of dawn until the golden hues of sunset painted the sky, these resilient boatmen navigated the labyrinthine waterways, ferrying passengers, goods, and dreams across the river. With strong hands and unwavering determination, they maneuvered their wooden vessels with precision, their expertise honed through years of experience. But it was not just a means of earning a living for these boatmen. The boat was an extension of their identity, a tangible embodiment of their connection to the water that had shaped their lives. They slept under the starry sky, cradled by the gentle rocking of the boat, finding solace in the rhythmic lullaby of the river. Their homes may have lacked the luxuries of modern life, but within the modest confines of their boats, they found a sense of belonging and contentment. Each boat became a microcosm of their world, filled with laughter, stories, and shared meals. They celebrated festivals, mourned losses, and celebrated the bonds of community that tied them together. Their lives were not without challenges. The river, both their provider and their adversary, dictated their fate. They braved treacherous storms, unpredictable currents, and fluctuating tides, their resilience a testament to their indomitable spirit. In the face of adversity, the boatmen of Sadarghat displayed remarkable unity and camaraderie. They supported each other through the ebb and flow of life, sharing the burden of hardships and celebrating the victories, however small. Their stories intertwined with those of the river, each ripple and wave carrying fragments of their collective history. They witnessed the passage of time, the changing landscape of the city, and the evolving demands of a modern world. Yet, their bond with the water remained steadfast, an unbreakable thread connecting them to their roots. The boatmen of Sadarghat were more than mere navigators of the river; they were the custodians of a way of life, preserving traditions and wisdom passed down through generations. Their resilience, adaptability, and unwavering spirit embodied the essence of Bangladesh%s rich cultural heritage. As the sun set on another day, casting its golden glow over the waters of Sadarghat, the boatmen returned to their boats, ready to embark on another journey. With oars in hand and hope in their hearts, they continued to navigate the river, carrying the stories of their community and the dreams of a brighter future. In the heart of Sadarghat, the boatmen carved their existence, an enduring testament to the inseparable bond between the people and the river that sustained them.

In the heart of Narayanganj, nestled among the bustling streets, stood the magnificent Loknath Temple, a place of spiritual devotion and serenity. On a vibrant morning, as the sun cast its golden rays upon the city, a young girl named Maya eagerly prepared for a special journey. Maya, a curious and spirited 10-year-old, was no stranger to the rituals and traditions of her community. She had heard captivating tales of the Rakher Upobash festival, a cherished occasion celebrated with great fervor at the Loknath Temple. Determined to experience the magic for herself, Maya convinced her parents to accompany her on this spiritual adventure. As they approached the temple, a sense of anticipation filled the air. The sound of ringing bells and melodious chants drifted towards them, drawing them closer to the heart of the festivities. The temple complex, adorned with vibrant decorations and colorful flowers, glowed with an ethereal aura. Inside, Maya was mesmerized by the vibrant atmosphere. Devotees of all ages had gathered, their eyes shining with devotion and their hearts filled with reverence. The fragrance of incense and the gentle whispers of prayers created an ambiance of peace and harmony. As the day unfolded, Maya immersed herself in the customs and rituals of Rakher Upobash. She observed the devotees fasting throughout the day, dedicated to seeking divine blessings and purifying their souls. The temple echoed with the melodious chants of hymns, as devotees fervently offered prayers and lit lamps as a symbol of enlightenment. Maya felt a deep connection to the spiritual energy that enveloped the temple. She joined the other children in painting colorful designs on their faces, symbolizing the joy and love that radiated during this auspicious time. Laughter filled the air as they engaged in playful moments, sharing their hopes and dreams for the future. As the sun began to set, the atmosphere transformed into a kaleidoscope of colors. The moment arrived for the grand celebration of Holi, where devotees joyously embraced the Festival of Colors. Maya%s face lit up with delight as she joined the jubilant crowd, playfully smearing vibrant hues of powdered pigments on one another. Boundaries dissolved as laughter echoed, spreading a sense of unity and love. In that fleeting moment, Maya experienced the true essence of Rakher Upobash. It was not just a festival of rituals, but a celebration of love, devotion, and the triumph of good over evil. Amidst the laughter and joy, she felt a profound connection to the divine, a realization that love had the power to bridge gaps, heal wounds, and create lasting bonds of friendship. As Maya and her family bid farewell to the Loknath Temple, their hearts overflowed with gratitude for the unforgettable experience. They carried with them the essence of Rakher Upobash, forever etched in their souls. The festival had touched their lives, reminding them of the beauty of unity, the strength of devotion, and the enduring power of love.

This may be the reason that Gajan started in India as “Dharmer Gajan” and slowly took its way to “Shiber Gajan” in the later period. In Bengal Dharmathakur is generally worshipped by the scheduled cast like Bauri, Bagdi, Hari, Dom. Dharmathakur may have been originated from Dharmaraj of Buddhism. Although Dharmathakur is identified by a shapeless stone (as seen in Bankura) and its Vahana is represented by terracotta horses , there have been instances where Buddha idol has been worshipped as Dharma thakur in villages of Bankura. There are still villages where both Dharamraj and Shiva are placed with Gajan offerings. Gajan is actually linked to persons who are related to agricultural community, directly or indirectly. They pray for the rains and better harvest. Lord Shiva is said to be closely related to this community. It may be worth noting here that Dharmathakur is actually considered to be the God of Fertility.
